you'll find all the information you need to sign up and attend this
year's event.
What to Expect
- A wide range of seminar topics designed for beginning to experienced researchers.
- 90-minute seminar sessions.
- Three seminar topics to chose from for each session.
- Question and answer period at the end of each session.
- Seminar syllabus available at a modest cost. (Please order a syllabus when you pre-register so we know how many copies to print)

A. Internet 101
Presenter: Jodi Sides
An introduction to using the internet to find your ancestors! We will explore using message boards, finding documents on-line, searching other researchers' family trees, and many other internet resources to help your tree grow.
B. Writing and Publishing Your Family History
Presenter: Janelle Whitlock
A range of ideas will be presented on how to publish your family history.
C. Cemetery Records On-Line
Presenter: Jacqueline Klaver
Cemetary records often hold the key to finding our ancestors. Options will be explored for finding your anceestors using on-line cemetery records.
10:00-11:20am - - - Session 2
A. Using Advanced Features of PAF
Presenter: David Bair
Learn how to enter resources, notes, and photos into PAF. Learn how to set up PAF to print your family tree in book format.
B. Researching South Dakota Land Records
Presenter: Virginia Hanson (South Dakota Archives)
Land records can provide important information in finding your ancestors and learning more about their lives. Learn what is available at the Souoth Dakota Archives.
C. Enlivening your Family History by Scrapbooking
Presenter: Amy Miller and Marge Robertson
Learn scrapbooking techniques that will make you proud of your ancestors and the work you did in finding them.
11:30-12:20pm Lunch Break
A sandwich/salad buffet will be served to those who have
pre-registered
($6.00 pre-paid by pre-registration) for the conference. Feel free to bring a sack lunch or visit
neighboring eateries during lunch time if you have not made prior
arrangements.

A. A Beginners Guide to On-Line Scottish Research
Presenter: Scott Bowen
Learn what resources are available to help you find your Scottish ancestors.
B. Preparing to go to the Family History Library, SLC
Presenter: Glenda Hecht
Things you can do to make your trip to the Family History Library in Salt Lake more successful.
C. Googling as a Family History Research Tool
Presenter: Perry Hanavan
Google provides a wealth of research tools for the family history researcher. This session will demonstrate free on-line research tools including Google Search, Google Maps, Google Images, Google News, Google Archives, Google Docs, Google Toolbars, Google Alerts, Google Gmail and many other helpful free tools for family history researchers.

A. Internet Resources for Norwegian Research
Presenter: Rick Meyer
Numerous internet sites are opening up every day to help in finding your Norwegian ancestors. Internet sites such as the Digitalarkivet and other popular research websites will be explored with an emphasis on how they can help in your search for your ancestors.
B. Researching Native American Records
Presenters: Joy Tibbitts and Pat Walker
On-Line research sites for finding your Native American ancestors.
C. Family History Catalog On-Line
Presenter: Eddie Sullivan
The Family History Library Catalog describes the records available at the Family History Library. Recently, there has been a new effort to make many of these holdings of the library available on-line. Learn what is available and how to access this wealth of information.

To get to the Family History Conference from I-29:
1) Take Exit 77
2) Go West on 41st Street for nearly 1 mile
3) Turn left (South) on Fairhall Avenue, and continue for roughly 0.3
miles. The meetinghouse will be the large building on the left, at 3900
S Fairhall Ave. Drive around back for ample parking.
